Cliff Roth, Editorial Director
Cliff Roth currently serves as Editorial Director of Tech Editorial, where he is principle writer and journalist, creating custom feature articles, white papers and other content for a variety of clients. (See Portfolio for samples.) Until early 2022 he was also a professor of media writing in the Communication Arts department at SUNY Cortland. He has been writing and producing content for media and tech clients for decades.
As a journalist, his articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, CNET, and many other sites and print magazines. He was editor of the Video/Imaging DesignLine site and newsletter by EETimes. Prior to that, he was Director of Interactive Television for Gist Communications, an onscreen program guide company, where he created and oversaw development of interactive TV applications for major cable and satellite-TV companies. Roth was a Senior Editor for E-town (a consumer electronics web site), and Editor-In-Chief of Smart Media Business (a monthly newsletter about interactive media).
He is also an accomplished filmmaker with works exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art, American Film Institute, Museum of the Moving Image, and many others. He holds a Master’s Degree in Film from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Binghamton University.
